The Wayne County Museum would like to invite our members and the general public to our Museum Membership Meeting and Open House this Saturday, June 25th, from 2-4pm. All are welcome to join us at this free event where you can tour our new train exhibit and model railroad and learn more about the museum and all of our upcoming events and exhibits. You can also enjoy a special presentation and lecture upstairs in our ballroom, which will be given by local historian, Mr. Jim Hinnant, about Goldsboro’s fascinating railroad history. All aboard for fun! Please join us.
The museum’s next special exhibition “Rail-A-Bration: Wayne County’s Railroad History” will open in mid-June and include vintage photos of the beloved Kiwanis train and other mini-train artifacts. We will explore Wayne County’s railroad history, train stations, memorabilia, and local train antiques. There will be a running model train display created by Waynesborough Model Railroad Club in the center of the main gallery. We are scheduling some exciting train history speakers and workshops, as well as related kid’s events. Follow our page for more train show updates!
